Developmental MINI Soccer

for players born in 2003 (U8)

Let me start off by welcoming you or welcoming you back to the Cumberland United Soccer Club (CUSC). We appreciate that you have chosen our club and our objective is to provide your child with an enjoyable soccer experience. To this end CUSC will run two divisions for the U8 (born in 2003) age group for boys and girls development league players. The basic principle behind this structure is player development to provide all the young athletes with an opportunity to develop in an environment where they are most comfortable and most likely to have fun.

The two divisions in development league will be called BLUE and GOLD and the players will be placed in the divisions based on the evaluation of their skills. The rationale behind splitting the players into two groups is that players develop better when they play and practice with players of similar abilities. Teams will play on Friday nights against other teams in their respective divisions and have one practice during the week with their team. For the more advanced players in the BLUE division, we will offer an additional weekly training session with professional coaching. The training sessions with the professional coach are mandatory and will be at an additional cost of $105 for the season. As always, we will attempt to accommodate requests for bilingual coaches or playing with friends where possible, while respecting our 2 division structure.

The preliminary evaluation sessions are scheduled as follows - See IMPORTANT NEWS  PAGE  on website for details.  It is important that all children attend the evaluation session so se can determine their current skill level which will then help us balance the teams.

This year we have made the Registration form in a "FILLABLE" PDF.  This means you type in the information on the form and then print it.  We would prefer you use this method as it is easier to read.  If you do not want to do this, then just print the form and fill it in by hand very carefully.
