> COBRA COACH MANDATORY "Respect is Soccer" course  - You cannot transfer Hockey certification to Soccer.

SpeakOut is a classroom based program by Hockey Canada designed specifically for their members.  Hockey Canada considers SpeakOut and the Respect in Sport program equivalent with regard to their Risk Management policies. Only Hockey Canada can make this distinction since SpeakOut is their program.

Respect in Soccer is an online program by the Ontario Soccer Association designed specifically for their members. If an OSA member has Respect in Sport from another sport organization, they can port their certification over to Respect in Soccer and have access to the program. Respect Group Inc designed the system to allow for certified individuals from other sports to transfer their certification to other associations that are using Respect in Sport programs.

You cannot port a SpeakOut registration number into the Respect in Soccer or Respect in Sport database, they are two entirely different systems.

As you know the Respect in Soccer program is available 24/7 so that you can complete it before April 15th. Congratulations to those coaches that are certified, this will help set the stage for a respectful season

A few words about Cobra soccer from the Director:

The CUSC way is to build the skills, confidence and athletic aspects of all of our athletes in our competitive program through a comprehensive soccer program based on learning the technical skills necessary to play the game at a high level and for the long term.

Competitive Leagues in Ottawa

CUSC operates competitive youth teams in 4 different leagues depending on the age and ability level of the athlete.

> The EODSA league is an entry level competitive league for players age U9 to U15. The ODL is a separate league operated by the EODSA and designed to adhere to the OSA Long Term Development Program for players age U9 and U10.

> The ERSL is for higher level players age U13 to U18

> The OYSL is the highest level league in Ontario; the CUSC will operate 1 Boys U16 team in this league.

Relationship to OSA Pyramid of Play

All leagues operate in divisions based upon the OSA’s pyramid of play. The EODSA operates Level 5 and 6 teams. The ERSL operates Level 3 and 4 teams. The OYSL is a Level 1 league only.
